Dorm life
During your time in college I think that at least one semester should be spent in a dorm staying at your college of choice, there aren’t many chances you’re going to experience in life where you spend your young adult life surrounded by peers who share the same struggles and triumphs with. I went to UNLV for my first year off at college after high school and even though it was short lived, it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. You’re first time away from home, living with a society full of young academic scholars, or so to speak, was incredibly fulfilling. You sleep in a closed environment with a roommate or at least neighbors who are open or closed off to the community and you meet people in a way that is unlike another. Being so close to school and living around education is quite the hassle but once you get your bearings, your limits are quite endless. The freedom and living with those who feel the same way is awesome, you will try things you’d never thought you would try.

You bring up a good point that there are not many opportunities in life that you will have to make new friends who will most likely become life-long friends and be surrounded by all of them at the same time than in college. I agree that it can take some time to get your bearings, but once you do, it feels pretty good ;) Also, being around like-minded people is really important to succeeding in college as well. The more you around good people, the more you will be inspired and motivated to do well yourself (and possibly open your world up to new areas you would have never thought of before). Great post!
