Interview

I did an interview with the manager of 24k Surf that just came from Japan and moved here as a liaison for the company that derives from Japan.
(it was in Japanese so it'll be translated)

Q: When you heard that there was a job opening to run the Hawaii 24k store was it your intention to work here or was it an offer at first?
A: It was announced and i had to compete for this position, i was glad that i could got it.
Q: Cool, so you've been working with LDH (24k's Owner) for quite some time then right?
A: Yes i have been working there for about 6 years now,
Q: You look so young, if you don't mind me asking how old are you?
A: I'm 29 going on thirty this year.
Q: Neat, its your birthday soon then
A: Yes, at the end of the month in fact.
Q: Cool, so back to the store, how was the transition moving to Hawaii?
A: i was too excited to think about all of the little things i had to get done, but i completed all the necessary paper work and am in the process of finding a husband and settling down in America haha.
Q: Nice  so since the grand opening on November 1st how has business been?
A: We do have our ups and downs, as you would know, and I feel that we just need to make a few minor adjustments and market a little more with the band and I’m sure the store will have a hard time keeping things in stock after a few months.
Q: that’s good to hear, it means ill still have a job. Haha, and how often have you had to work with Exile?
A: when I worked for them in Japan I was actually on a tour with them, I acted as a producers assistant, I ran to grab necessities for them, and completed tasks that they were too busy to complete themselves.
Q: so do you miss that life style?
A: no not really I'm glad I got this job because I always wanted to live in Hawaii
Q: well thank you for your time sorry to bother you on our break haha.
A: no problem it was fun.

Ok you guys just need to watch this.

Christmas Time for College students

Man, I can't think of a better time of year for college students other than Christmas time. The hard part about it is that as a student we are going to have the most amount of friends we are ever going to have as of right now than in any other period of our adult live. The blessing of having a lot of friends is having to buy presents for all of them. Also, with the life style that we college students have, we have trouble paying for our own gas. How am i going to buy 15 presents for my friends and still doesn't include my family, which in Hawaii is difficult because we're so close and we have them all here on this island, nearly 30 minutes away at the furthest. You save and you save thinking that you are going to be prepared this time around but it never seems to work out the way you wanted it too. I hope you guys end up being able to afford buying all the presents your friends and family deserve I hope I can.

Common Misconception

One really big common misconception about High School student transferring into college is that they think there isn't any homework. Sorry to kill your buzz there is most definitely a lot of it, and unlike high school you can't talk your way into turning it in half ass or late usually. I think that students really aren't prepared for college unless they paid over 20 thousand dollars a year to attend a preparatory academy for the privileged.
I attended a normal public high school like anyone else, i attended Kalani High School in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I was told that our school was in the high 96th percentile of excelled academic students who attended Kalani. We supposedly achieved one of the highest scores in Hawaii as a student body all together.
Just to warn all you guys who think that they don't have to do any Homework in college you are seriously misinformed good luck.

Top ten things to do when you're bored at work in a retail store.

1- Walk around your station as many times as you can and count how many times you can before a customer walks in.
------its good for business and it kills time
2- See how many things you can change in the store without having the manager find out.
------in my store i flip all the non-working lamp shades upside down, i swear she never notices,
3- Go to the camera monitor and have your friend walk around the store, yell when she isn't available.
------this way you can figure out when to text your friends when your boss is out or in the back.
4- Leave notes around the store for your other employees to pick up and leave clues as to where you're hiding the snacks that day.
------i don't know about anyone else but i get hungry on the floor
5- If you're store allows you to play your ipod as the background music for the store then figure out all the swear word songs you have and see how many songs you can play before you get in trouble.
6- Hide your Employees affects when they're leaving
------this will force them to stay around the store and could be asked by the supervisor to do one last request before they leave, it get pretty funny.
7- Try on all the close at your store
8- Count how many single ladies or Men come in, which ever you prefer and count how many are actually attractive.
9- If you're talking in a different language, see how many swear words you can sneak in.
10- When the store is empty bump a genre of music really loud and see if it attracts that music's demographic customers.
